Me Kolonaki, Where the Food is as Beautiful as the People
Me Kolonaki is a much loved spot on the charming Kapsali street that runs from Kolonaki Square to Irodotou and is a highlight of a street that is already packed with good things.
People come to Me Kolonaki for two things; the delicious, healthy, food and drinks, the gorgeous parade of Athens’ IT crowd which often gives the outdoor seating area the look of the backstage of a fashion show. The menu is by no means all vegan but several people I know who follow a plant based diet swear by Me Kolonaki for the range and quality of the vegetarian and vegan options. The acai smoothie is a wonderful drink of almost magical powers, healing the worst of hangovers or marking the perfect digestif to an aggressive workout. Continuing on the acai theme, the vegan acai bowl is another marvelously energising hit of deliciousness with berries, banana, mango, acai, coconut and much, much more. It’s not all health either with indulgent brunchy treats like vegan pancakes which are also gluten free. Delicious salads and mains round out a wide selection for people who are mainly, or solely, plant based. A full selection of coffees and cocktails mean you can extend your stay to surreptitiously watch the fabulous locals.
