Muse Bistro launches the festive season with a winter-warming menu
Tucked just off the hip and happening Ag.Theodoron Sq, Muse Bistro at the Gem Society Hotel captures the essence of the Mediterranean’s graceful lifestyle, serving it up in artful, flavourful portions. The new winter menu, a harmonious blend of comforting Greek influences and French techniques, evokes the soulful warmth of family feasts.
When The Gem Society Hotel opened – bang in the midst of the pandemic – the neighbourhood did not boast the gastronomic heavyweights that have since claimed this popular square as their playground. Muse Bistro brought with it a laid-back elegance, one that eschews formalities while brimming with the warmth and vibrancy of lively family gatherings.
It’s a place where every bite is steeped in nostalgia, much like the striking black-and-white photograph that graces the walls, a quiet tribute to shared meals and cherished memories. Much like the hotel and its owners, the menu tells a story—a tapestry of cultures intricately woven together, offering a glimpse into the shared history and diverse flavors that define Muse Bistro.
The traditions of French cooking with the freshest of Greek ingredients form the bedrock at Muse Bistro. Fuelled by a storied tapestry of flavours and techniques, passed down from generations, you can sense owner and general manager Henry Gemayel’s personal involvement in crafting the menu. From comforting Greek staples such as trahana and fakorizo served with root vegetables to reimagined, indulgent desserts, the menu is a warming and celebratory experience.
Here’s what you can expect:
Beetroot Carpaccio: Combines earthy beetroot, creamy warm goat cheese, and hazelnut for a refined vegetarian option with truffle oil dressing.
Winter Trahanotto: Trahana wheat “pellets” (a Greek heritage ingredient) with winter mushrooms for extra comfort and deep flavour.
Lamb Chops with Fakorizo: Premium Greek meat paired with another traditional classic made of lentil and rice pilaf, and winter root vegetables offers richness and tradition.
Melomakarono Crumble Cheesecake: A creative twist on a Greek Christmas classic, that enhance festive flavours while evoking holiday nostalgia and sheen.
